Syracuse Basketball plays its fifth game of the season against Bucknell on Saturday afternoon. Inside The Loud House gets you ready with what you need to know to be able to watch and listen to the game.

Syracuse basketball won by 19 versus Cornell in their last game, but it was anything but impressive. Pretty much you could argue the Orange won on talent, length, and height alone. In other words, the Orange have a lot of things to figure out before they play against Bucknell at the Dome on Saturday afternoon.

The good news so far this year is Elijah Hughes is playing great so far this season scoring in double-digits consistently and racking up a ton of assists in the process.

Also, Joe Girard III has been a nice surprise as a freshman both as a scorer and leader at the point guard position with Jalen Carey struggling (and now out) with a thumb injury. And with Buddy Boeheim now heating up inside and outside the arc, you’d think the Orange would be right where they want to be. However, that has not been the case.

So what should we expect?

The defense is generating points off of turnovers, but has really struggled to guard the perimeter and wings off the zone from opposing sharpshooters. That flaw had allowed teams recently to crawl back into games they had no business being in.

The Orange also have been exposed defensively in the post as well. The Orange mostly just have Bourama Sidibe to man the middle, and he’s done an adequate job, but when he gets in foul trouble like he did last game against Cornell, that’s a problem. Marek Dolezaj is no center, but just enough, and Jesse Edwards is good, but is still raw and also frequently picks up silly fouls.

If the Orange can clean these issues up they can be really good this season. This game shouldn’t be close, but it should serve as a good tune-up before playing Oklahoma State in the NIT Season Tip-Off next week.

So how can I watch or listen to the game?

The game will be shown on the ACC Network, so you will need a cable subscription with ACC Network included to watch the game, according to Cuse.com. The good news if you can’t make it to the game (in person) or watch it online/through the WatchESPN app is that the Orange Basketball game will also air on the radio.
