Syracuse football has four games remaining and hopes to end the season with promise. ‘Cuse is 3-5 on the year with no ACC victories.

The squad has disappointed and looked lost while not being cohesive. To make matters worse, it seems like the coaching staff has lost control of its team. Last week starting right tackle, Ryan Alexander, up and left. After he quit, Syracuse has to fill yet another hole on a battered O-line.

If Syracuse can turn it around, then it will be a testament to head coach Dino Babers. However, at this point, I think this season is a lost cause. It’s time to focus on recruiting.

But first things first there is still a game to be played on Saturday. Surprisingly the Orange opened as a 2.5 point favorite against Boston College. The Orange need to get their offense back on track.

The O-line issues can’t be fixed in a week, so the play-calling has to change. Quick plays and outside runs with the occasional deep ball should be the game plan. Inside runs and passes that take long to develop would gift BC with a sack.

Syracuse has allowed the most sacks in the FBS this season. Out of the 130 teams, this squad has allowed the most takedowns. After seeing recent performances, it’s tough to think the offense can start clicking honestly.

But if Moe Neal and Trishton Jackson can shine, then maybe the offense can score early. On defense, the key is the Orange front seven. AJ Dillon is top five in rushing yards this year after the eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark. However, Syracuse has given up the big play all too often this season.

Out of the remaining four games, I believe this is the easiest opportunity for a win. So I could see the ‘Cuse rolling at home. But in the end, the Eagles get the edge. Give me Boston College 23-17.
