FINAL SCORE:

Florida State 26 Syracuse 13

As we enter the final game of October, it seems like everything is lost in Central New York. The Pittsburgh game was like an old record player playing the same song over and over again. Six first-half sacks, DeVito played average again (and gets hurt) and the Orange lost, even though they somehow had a chance to make some magic at the end of the game.

I’ve seen a lot of bad Syracuse football teams over my lifetime, but this is the most disappointing Syracuse team I can remember. It’s time for Syracuse to start to see who will be key players for the 2020 season, that’s the only positive thing they can get out of the rest of the year.

As for the FSU game, this is going to be a rout. I would be shocked if Syracuse players haven’t given up on the season, it has just been too heartbreaking. Seminoles head coach Willie Taggart is a man coaching for his life, so I expect Florida State to treat this game with a lot of urgency.

I believe the Orange should go with Clayton Welch for a game or two so DeVito can rest and be 100% to get some extra reps before the season ends (he desperately needs them). Tallahassee is a very tough place to play no matter how good the Seminoles are, and the Orange will fall this week. I just hope I see some players and coaches in Orange that look like they still care and show some pride.
