Florida State – 30, Syracuse – 23

At this point, I’ve lost complete trust in the Orange. Three straight losses and zero wins to this date against a fellow ‘Power Conference’ opponent, and Syracuse is in some deep trouble.

Of course, the Orange can still fight to become bowl eligible, and it starts with this road contest at FSU. The Seminoles are led by an improved signal-caller in James Blackman, who has limited his interceptions so far this season, with just five.

On the ground, they have one of the top backs in the ACC in Cam Akers, who has already rushed for nearly 800 yards – more than double than Cuse’s Moe Neal.

The one thing that could help Syracuse, is how Florida State actually allows more points per game and yards per game than the Orange. Perhaps this could allow for more offense from a Syracuse team that has struggled to put up points all season long.

If Syracuse wants to win this game, and get to a steady 4-4 position, they must run the ball. The Orange have averaged a little above 100 yards per game, whereas FSU gives up over 150 per contest.

My money is on Florida State to take this game in a close one.  Syracuse hasn’t been getting blown out, but they haven’t proven anything yet for me to think that a turnaround will happen this weekend.
