Syracuse football has had a disappointing 2019 campaign. Here’s where they rank among the most unsatisfying teams in college football.

Let’s face it, the Syracuse football team has been pretty bad this Fall, and nobody saw it coming.

We are just over halfway through the college football regular season. Syracuse has fallen to the bottom of the ACC, and after a preseason of shooting for the stars, the Orange are going to be scrapping just to make the lowest of bowl games.

So who are the most disappointing teams in college football?

No. 5 – Texas A&M

I’ll be honest; it is kind of unfair that Texas A&M is on this list. The Aggies make the cut because of their high ranking in the preseason. They were ranked No. 12 to start the season and had a chance to really skyrocket with the Week 2 matchup against Clemson. However, the Aggies were handled easily, along with losses to Alabama and Auburn. The Aggies now sit at 4-3, but all of their losses have been against excellent teams and it’s only Jimbo Fisher’s second season. It just would have been nice to see them beat one of those three top teams.

No. 4- Michigan State

Although the Big 10 was Michigan’s and Ohio State’s to lose coming into the year, Michigan State was supposed to make some noise this season. The Spartans started the season ranked No. 18 and even though they weren’t picked to win the Big 10 by many, they should be in a better spot than where they are placed today. The Spartans are 4-3 after losing again to Arizona State for the second straight year and getting blown out by Ohio State and Wisconsin. Now, they aren’t getting any votes in the AP Poll and Mark D’Antonio may be on the hot seat.

No. 3. – Syracuse

The Orange rightfully deserves to be in the top 5. Syracuse was supposed to be the one team that gave Clemson a run for their money in the ACC Atlantic, and maybe even beat the Tigers when they came to visit back in September. Instead, the Orange can’t even beat a Power 5 team. The Orange are nowhere close to receiving votes in the AP Poll and after expectations of making a great bowl game like the Orange Bowl, Syracuse is fighting to play in a bowl game that nobody will be interested in.

No. 2. – Michigan

Only a school like Michigan could be one of the most disappointing teams in the country and still have a 5-2 record. However, this was THE YEAR that Michigan was supposed to win the Big 10, beat Ohio State at the end of the year, and make the College Football Playoff, but that won’t happen this year. Michigan has already gotten destroyed by Wisconsin and lost on the road to Penn State. The Wolverines’ standards are too high for their football team to lose those games. As of right now, there is no chance Michigan can beat Ohio State at the end of the year, and that may be the last straw for Jim Harbaugh.

No. 1. – Nebraska

Nebraska may not have a terrible record, but they are the most disappointing team in college football so far. The Cornhuskers were supposed to be the team that wins the Big 10 West, and maybe even sneak into the playoff if they could win the conference title game. Nebraska was one of the most popular bets in Las Vegas for a team to win the championship, because of their weak division, conference, and high odds according to the bookmakers. Instead, Nebraska lost to Colorado and was destroyed by Ohio State and now that dream is completely dead. After a very bad 2018 season, Scott Frost and his team are leaving fans disappointed yet again.
