Syracuse Football VS NC State Prediction: Syracuse wins 35-24.

Syracuse is coming off two somewhat convincing wins before the bye week. Sure the opponents were Western Michigan and Holy Cross, but at least the Orange looked in control of both and started mending areas of struggle in recent games.

The offensive line looked better, the linebacker unit is getting there, and Tommy DeVito has looked better as well. He had passed for eight touchdowns and rushed for one touchdown while only having one interception in those two games. He also completed 69% of his passes and threw for 556 yards in these last two games as well. That’s not too shabby.

Hopefully, that translates to ACC play where he really played well last year in a reserve role. Based on what I’m seeing and how badly NC State played last week on the road at Florida State, I am going with the Orange to win this one by a score or two.

These two teams look pretty evenly matched. They both have decent talent, yet just cannot seem to get all things going at once. If the Orange figure things out during the middle of this one on both sides of the ball then I don’t think it will be as hard as we initially thought going in.

However, if the Orange struggle under the bright lights then it could be a long game losing by two or three scores. Which team will show up? Who knows, but I’m betting the Orange more than hold their own on the road in front of a national audience on ESPN Thursday night. Give the Orange in a tight fourth quarter win, 35-24 and improving to 4-2 on the year and 1-1 in ACC play.
