Now is the time we should see what Syracuse football is all about this season. Syracuse has had an extra week to prepare for the Wolfpack in this Thursday night game, so I expect to see the cleanest football game of the season. I mean if not now, when?

The heart of the schedule is about to take off, and there would be no better chance then to start a streak then right now. There are no more Holy Cross’ and cream puffs left on this remaining schedule.

As for the game, this NC State offense reminds me a lot of Maryland. Their run-pass options are very similar, and they use the run to get the passing going. It’s a primetime game on the road, so you know the crowd is going to be going crazy. The Orange needs to be the first team to take the lead and have some momentum in this game or else it could be the Maryland game all over again.

The Wolfpack will use 2 QB’s in this game, so it may be tough for Syracuse to get a rhythm going on defense. NC State likes to sit back in coverage on D, so if Tommy DeVito can be patient in the pocket, I think the Orange can win. But, I don’t think that will happen, and he may have a bad interception or two.

NC State 38 Syracuse 29.
