5. The hardest part of the schedule is over, it’s all downhill from here.

Seriously, that’s how the schedule sets up.

The Clemson Tigers are the No. 1 team in the country. They possess one of the historic offenses in all of college football with their All-Pro talent at every position group.

The Orange ended up losing 41-6, although there were multiple opportunities during the contest for Syracuse to make it a one-possession game, but costly turnovers flipped the narrative.

When you look at the strength of schedule for the Orange with what’s remaining, it’s not daunting in any way. Especially in the conference.

During the Week 3 slate several ACC teams collapsed like a used lawn chair:

  • Boston College lost to Kansas in football, not basketball: 48-24.
  • Florida State dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 31-24 loss to Virginia, arguably they should be 0-3.
  • NC State was annihilated by West Virginia by a count of 44-27.
  • Virginia Tech was actually down 14-3 vs Furman, before pulling it out 24-17 barely.
  • The Citadel beat Georgia Tech… does it even matter by how much?
  • In positive news, Miami got its first win of the season albeit against Bethune-Cookman.

So in other words, as long as Syracuse takes care of its own business, there are no more monsters hiding in the closet or under the bed. The biggest, baddest bully Clemson has moved on to bigger fish already.

It’s all downhill from here for the Orange, now they just have to start stringing some wins together.
