Syracuse football is in the midst of a two-game losing streak, but there’s reason for optimism. Here are the top 5 reasons to hold out hope for 2019.

This isn’t exactly how Syracuse football fans envisioned the 2019 season going. The Orange are 1-2 after the first three games of the season.

The Orange shutout the Liberty Flames in Week 1, 24-0. It wasn’t overly dominant, but the team got the win. In Week 2, Syracuse didn’t even show up losing in embarrassing fashion to the Maryland Terrapins 63-20.

After the game, some Syracuse fans tried to rationalize the loss by suggesting Maryland was good. Somehow the Terps lost to Temple in Week 3, so there goes that theory, but I digress.

Then in Week 3, the Orange had a golden opportunity to upset the Clemson Tigers but ultimately fell short. The 41-6 final score doesn’t indicate how close the game actually was, but at the end of the day, a loss is a loss.

This has led some Syracuse fans to jump off the bandwagon. We’ve heard it all: is it basketball season yet? The season is over.

With all that negativity floating around, we wanted to provide five reasons why there’s still hope left for the 2019 season. Check out the following slideshow, then share your opinion in the comments below!
