Syracuse Football comes into their season opener on the road at Liberty with high expectations. After having a 10-3 season last year in which they won a bowl game, the Orange come in as the favorites ranked at No. 22 in the nation in the Preseason College Football AP Poll.

Liberty meanwhile is starting fresh with new head coach Hugh Freeze. He has a talented roster, but how he’ll use it is a mystery.

Since it’s his first game coaching Liberty, we can definitely expect some hiccups and that should be the difference in the game especially for a team as talented defensively as the Orange is.

Considering Liberty may also not be as prepared as they thought they were for Syracuse’s fast-paced offense led by Tommy DeVito, it could be a long game.

We should expect DeVito to have a huge passing game of over 300 yards with three or more touchdowns and for that to be offset by a 100 yard plus running game for Moe Neal and company. I see the Orange running away with this one early, winning by a score of 48-17.
