It’s time for the debut of our weekly crystal ball predictions series ahead of Syracuse football vs Liberty Flames. Here are all the details.

This feels like it has been the longest offseason in the history of mankind. But finally the waiting and speculation are over, it’s time for some actual analysis and most importantly some Syracuse football.

In Week 1 the Orange will travel to play the Liberty Flames in Lynchburg, Virginia. Syracuse will also hit the road in Week 2 when they play the Maryland Terrapins. This will be the first time since the 2010 season that Syracuse has opened up with its first two games on the road.

While the Orange are projected as a heavy favorite in this contest, there’s a lot that we don’t know about this Liberty team. This upcoming matchup on Saturday will be the first time in history these two programs are squaring off.

On top of that, Liberty has a new head coach up top in Hugh Freeze. The name stands out and so does the winning pedigree (42-32 in eight seasons). But there’s no tape of Liberty and Freeze together, so it’s anyone’s guess what Syracuse will encounter at Williams Stadium Saturday night.

With that as our backdrop, here are our official crystal ball predictions for Week 1 between the Syracuse football squad and the Liberty Flames.
