We spoke with the folks over at Rubbing the Rock to answer the biggest questions ahead of Clemson vs Syracuse football in 2019.

There’s no debate, the 2019 Syracuse football season is one of the most anticipated in Orange history. SU is coming off of a 10-3 campaign in 2018, the best season since 2001. Now the question on people’s minds across America is what’s next?

Outside of SU’s 2018 season, the Orange have been a great mediocrity in the 21st century. So is 2018 a sign of things to come? Or will people be saying “same old Syracuse” by the time next season is finished?

A lot of that will depend on the outcome of their Week 3 matchup vs the Tigers. With one of the most highly anticipated games of the 2019 season on the horizon between Clemson and Syracuse football coming up in Week 3, we decided to speak to the folks over at Rubbing the Rock. They cover everything Clemson related for FanSided and we asked the five burning questions on our minds heading into next season.

Before we get this conversation started, obviously, the elephant in the room is this matchup isn’t until Week 3. Which means the Syracuse football squad has to take care of business in the first two weeks of the season for this matchup to mean what it’s supposed to mean.

SU is favored in the first two games of the season, both on the road vs Liberty and Maryland respectively. If Syracuse overlooks either opponent, but especially Maryland, the Orange could eat an early slip up that could prove costly later in the season. But of course the biggest game of the season is in Week 3 vs the Tigers and we can’t help but look ahead.
