Second Pick, “Team Ryan”: Lawrence Moten

The key to having longevity on the court is if you can get buckets and no one screams “bucket maker” more than Lawrence Moten making him the perfect number two to Anthony.

His career low at Syracuse was 17.9 points a game his sophomore year, a total that many players would’ve loved to be their career highs!  Moten might be known for his scoring ability but his all-around game is quite underrated.

Moten is top 35 in program history as well in rebounds, assists, steals and block shots will add a little bit of everything for my squad. During his junior campaign, the 1993-1994 season Moten also showed his efficiency off by scoring his career high 21.5 points per game while shooting a shade over 50 percent from the field.

Moten can do it all and fill many different needs throughout the course of any game like he did at Syracuse. Now that there is scoring on the table it is time to look for an inside presence. –Ryan.

Second Pick, “Team Paul”: Dave Bing

Hashtag blessed? To be able to get one of the greatest (if not the greatest) player in SU history with the third overall pick is a blessing.

Hall of Fame head coach Jim Boeheim has routinely said that Bing is the best and I’m happy to add him to the squad.

While my draft strategy may seem a bit unorthodox from the outside looking in to build up the backcourt first, I just had to maximize on value. But now that my backcourt is complete (and clearly the best out of our two teams), I can pick from the scrap heap to build the rest of my core. Also to pair two different SU legends from different eras on the same team was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up on.

In every year of his collegiate career, he scored over 20 points per game. On top of the scoring output, he also averaged a double-double his entire career. There’s a reason he’s considered the goat, Ryan will pay for skipping him twice.  –Paul.
