OT. Syracuse Orange. KODA MARTIN. n/a.

Speaking of offensive linemen, here is the other Syracuse big man who is being considered a future NFL prospect. While he only spent one season on the hill, it’s a career that won’t be soon forgotten.

The Orange finally broke through with their first 10 win campaign since 2001 among many other accolades and achievements during the 2018 season. NFL Draft Analyst Buddy Andrade gave his take on Martin’s game:

"“Shows good initial kickstep and ability to get on pass rushers quickly with quick hands and solid punch. He shows a good ability to anchor vs bull rush or take rushers trying to get the edge beyond the QB. Martin needs to work on run blocking and firing off the ball against both edge and interior defenders.”"

I’ve never enjoyed interviewing any player more than Koda Martin. In all of our conversations from summer practice to the season were always enjoyable and thought-provoking. What does that have to do with his professional future and aspirations? I’m not quite sure, but I think that should be part of the evaluation process.

I find it hard to believe any NFL team that met privately with Koda could walk away from that conversation anything short of impressed. He’s highly intellectual, possesses a great frame at 6-foot-6 and weighs over 300 pounds.

NFL Draft Insider Matt Miller has Martin rated as the 30th best tackle in the 2019 NFL Draft but doesn’t project him to be taken during the draft.
