Syracuse basketball’s regular season is over. Up next: Pittsburgh in the ACC Tournament. Inside the Loud House tells you how you can watch and listen.

Syracuse basketball played well for the most part in ACC conference play and beat, for the most part, teams they should beat. However, when higher competition came near the end of the conference slate, the Orange would win the first halves of those games, but lose the second halves. That led to a disappointing 19-12 finish to the regular season, but a still respectable 10-8 conference record.

The Orange lost their last game of the regular season to Clemson on the road, 67-55. The Orange will now start a new season with the slate wiped clean on Wednesday night when they face former Big East rival Pittsburgh in the ACC Tournament.

Pittsburgh comes in having won the previous day in the first round of the ACC tournament versus Boston College, 80-70. Pittsburgh guard Trey McGowens chipped in 26 points, while the fellow guard Xavier Johnson had 23 points and two assists in the victory, according to ESPN.com. They combined for more than half of Pittsburgh’s scoring.

Syracuse basketball squad will need to remember how to play tight 2-3 zone defense at the top of the key if they want to limit McGowens and Johnson from having another big night. If the Orange defense prevents driving lanes and forces outside shots, Syracuse will have Pittsburgh right where they want them. The Orange did well in that regard in their previous two matchups versus the Panthers this year winning both games by nine points, according to Cuse.com.

These two have played for years going back to the old Big East days Conference days. When they meet in the ACC Tournament on Wednesday, that same familiarity and bad blood may spill out, especially considering Syracuse needs to win badly to prevent another bad loss to their NCAA Tournament resume. If the Orange struggle throughout the game, the emotions will run high and things could get chippy.

These two programs may not hate each other as Syracuse and Georgetown do, but after facing 115 times going back to 1914, according to Orangehoops.org, these two definitely don’t think fondly of each other.

So will this classic rivalry game will be nationally televised? The answer is yes! It will be in prime time Wednesday, March 13th at 9:00 p.m ET on ESPN2 and WSTM– NBC Channel 3 in Syracuse, according to Syracuse.com. Better yet, you can also view the game on streaming devices or online on the WatchESPN app or ESPN3.com. Per usual, the game can be heard online under the listen tab at Cuse.com or locally on the radio on Syracuse’s IMG Sports Network: 99.5 FM/105 FM, according to Cuse.com.
