It’s the regular season finale between the Syracuse basketball squad and the Clemson Tigers. Here’s how this one is going to play out on Saturday.
We’ve got some Orange on Orange crime in this regular season finale between the Syracuse basketball team and the Clemson Tigers. On one side the Orange of Syracuse are in an unsuual position, firmly in the tournament (according to the experts). While the Tigers of Clemson are fighting for their tournament lives.
Some interesting trends heading into this one:
- Syracuse has lost three out of their last four. Although those three opponents have been North Carolina, Duke, and Virginia who all reside in the top-five.
- While Clemson has won three out of their last four. But they’ve played Boston College, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame who are the bottom feeders in the ACC.
This is the last opportunity ahead of the ACC tournament to put the final touches on your tournament resume. But this could be a very big measuring stick on who gets in and who gets out. Syracuse right now has 19 wins with 10 of those coming in ACC play. Clemson has 18 wins with eight of those coming in conference play.
If Syracuse wins they get to 20 wins and 11 wins in conference, super impressive. While if Clemson wins, they will have an identical overall record to Syracuse heading into the ACC tournament. My advice? Don’t give the tournament committee reasons to leave you out, just handle business.
