With the Syracuse basketball squad playing the Louisville Cardinals on Wednesday night as the backdrop, here’s what you need to know for the game.

The Syracuse basketball squad hasn’t played in a week, it feels a little weird. Hopefully, the Orange used that time wisely because over the next six days they’ll be playing three top-18 teams in the country.

That starts Wednesday night in the Carrier Dome against one of the best teams in the ACC. The Cardinals are 18-8 overall, 9-4 in the ACC. The Cardinals have lost three out of their last five games, although the context is important, those losses were all versus top-25 foes.

For Syracuse, like a troublesome adolescent that has been sent to timeout, have had time to think about their issues over the last week. The Orange have lost two out of their last three and face one of the most daunting challenges in all of college basketball down the final stretch.

To learn more about the Cardinals we sat down with The Big Red Louie Site Expert Jacob Lane, our FanSided sister network that covers all things Louisville. Here are the top five things you need to know ahead of this ACC tilt on Wednesday night.
