Midseason ACC report

Wait WHAT?! We are already halfway through conference play? I felt like we were just previewing the season last week, oh how time flies.

What an opening half for Syracuse, 7-2 in the ACC. That’s the second best start to ACC play since Syracuse joined the conference back in 2013. The best mark was in that inaugural 2013-14 season for the Orange where they started out 12-0 in conference play, before finishing up 14-4.

Overall for Syracuse they’ve only finished above .500 in conference twice out of five opportunities in the ACC. I don’t want to be too bold here, but if Syracuse wins just three times in nine tries, they’ll accomplish that above .500 feat for a third time.

Syracuse has a few skins on the wall in conference play this season headlined by Duke. But they’ll have even more opportunities in the second half of conference play, five of their next six games are against teams in the top-25. But so far so good for the Orange, they’ve mostly handled business and they’ll have to finish strong if they have plans for a late March Madness run.
