The Syracuse Basketball team plays their 17th game of the season against ACC rival and No. 1 ranked Duke Monday evening. Inside The Loud House tells you how you can catch the game.

Syracuse Basketball has really put themselves into a hole coming into this much anticipated game against ACC rival Duke. Normally a classic in previous years, this matchup doesn’t look close coming in as it has been. When these teams meet Monday evening Syracuse will come in looking for answers on the road and hoping to earn a skin to put on the wall. Meanwhile No. 1 ranked Duke will look to dominate a team that has caused them headaches in years past.

Coming into the season the matchup versus Duke looked to be one for the ages. On one side you have a Duke team littered with over five NBA caliber players who would be in the league right now. On the other side you have at least two NBA prospects as well to match in Tyus Battle, Oshae Brissett, and possibly even Frank Howard to some extent.

However, since the offseason much has changed. Mostly Tyus Battle has shined for Syracuse while Duke is soaring and flying high with multiple players. Pick your poison: Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish, Tre Jones, Marques Bolden. They all are really good and have nice pro basketball careers ahead of them.

So where does that put the matchup now? Well, currently Syracuse Basketball sits at 11-5 overall this season. They will come in unranked and having just lost to a 9-6 Georgia Tech team in the Carrier Dome on Saturday. Meanwhile the Duke Blue Devils come in feeling great after burying a three at the buzzer to knock off Top-15 Florida State, 80-78 on the road, according to ESPN.com.

Now the Orange get to travel and face Duke in one of the hardest places to play: Cameron Indoor Stadium. Could things get any worse for the Orange?

Well there is some good to be gleaned here. Syracuse is a good team and has good defense, it’s just a matter of getting their offense to click. We’ve seen glimpses of it like how they beat a Top-20 Ohio State team on the road. Mind you, the Buckeyes are not the Blue Devils by any stretch, but it’s something to think about.

In addition, Duke may get complacent after a big win. They are a team loaded with freshmen that still have a lot to learn taking on a very experienced roster in Syracuse that returns all five starters from last year, according to Syracuse.com. So nothing is impossible, just highly unlikely.

The Orange need big wins going forward if they want to make the NCAA Tournament again this year and avoid the bubble. Getting a win over Duke on the road is a great way to start that. What better way to boost your confidence than to beat a rival on their court who also boasts a number one ranking?

And who knows maybe we’ll have another classic ending like this one two years ago in the Dome? John Gillon for the win anyone? Instant Classic!

More likely though I’m expecting a reaction more like this one below from Boeheim if the games not going the Orange’s way. This was pretty unforgettable, so it just makes you wonder what else he has in store for this rivalry before he retires as Syracuse’s basketball coach.

Either way it should be a great game once again whether its a close game or blowout. C’mon, it’s Duke and Syracuse, two ACC heavyweight programs. What’s not to like?

So will the game be televised? Well, ladies and gents I’m glad to say that, yes, the game will be nationally televised on ESPN. Better yet, you can also view the game on streaming devices or online on the WatchESPN app or ESPN3.com, according to Syracuse.com. The game, as always, can also be heard online under the listen tab at Cuse.com or locally on the radio on Syracuse’s IMG Sports Network: 99.5 FM/105 FM.
