Syracuse Basketball: Predictions for ACC clash vs Clemson Tigers

The Syracuse basketball team will continue their ACC conference slate in the lovely confines of the Carrier Dome when they play the Clemson Tigers.

Both of these teams entered 2018-19 with high expectations. Syracuse basketball was a preseason No. 16 ranked team in the country returning all five starters for the first time since 1999. Many pundits and analysts alike had Syracuse as a popular trendy pick as a final four team.

While the Clemson Tigers were also ranked preseason in the top-25 (No. 22 overall). The Tigers similar to Syracuse bring a lot of experience back in 2018-19. In fact the Tigers arguably have the most veteran laden team in all of college basketball with four seniors in their lineup.

Clemson is 10-4 on the season, 0-1 in ACC play (87-68 loss to Duke, hard to blame them). The Tigers have gone on separate four and five game winning streaks this season respectively. Although the schedule makers did this team no favors: Clemson opened up conference play with a road game vs Duke, a road game vs Syracuse, and a home tilt vs No. 4 Virginia on Saturday. Yikes.

Syracuse on the other hand hasn’t gotten it that bad… yet, the end of their schedule is brutal. The Orange have had three separate winning streaks on the season: two, five, and the current three game winning streak they’re on. Their best win on the season is at Ohio State and at Notre Dame by the same tally: 72-62.
