Prediction: Syracuse wins 68-54

Syracuse Basketball is a a tough team to figure out this year. On one hand they lose to Oregon, and UConn in Madison Square Garden (our home away from home).

Then the Orange bounce back with nice wins over Ohio State, Cornell, and Georgetown. Then the Orange lose back to back games over Old Dominion and Buffalo both at home and come out looking ugly in a miserable first half against Arkansas State. Sure the Orange eventually routed Arkansas State by 30, but it still doesn’t make up for the fact they can’t be consistent on offense even when their defense is playing well.

So will they beat the 4-8 St. Bonaventure at home? It’s really a toss up in my mind. At this point it really depends on if the Orange make their shots and have good chemistry and each game that seems to change. Right now I’m thinking we will beat the Bonnies at home by double digits as we should, but i have no proof for that other than a gut feeling.

As an Orange fan, that’s not the way you want to feel. This team is too talented to be squandering their season like they have so far. No one would have expected an Orange team returning all five starters from last year would look this ugly on offense this far into the year, let alone 8-4 before starting ACC play. The Orange have got to show up in this one. I am calling this a must-win game for the Orange and I think they finally win this one somewhat convincingly 68-54 behind another strong performance from Tyus Battle and Elijah Hughes.
