Prediction: Syracuse wins 52-45

It’s finally here! It seems like it has been forever since the last time the Orange stepped onto a football field. But on Friday, Syracuse will take on the No. 15 West Virginia Mountaineers in the 2018 Camping World Bowl.

The Orange (10th) and West Virginia (ninth) possess two of the most potent scoring offenses in the country. So expect a ton of points to be put up on the board on Friday.

Although, the Mountaineers will be playing in the matchup without senior quarterback Will Grier, who threw for 3,864 yards and 37 touchdowns this season. Grier has opted to skip the bowl game in order to prepare himself for the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft.

Despite their top quarterback not being available for Friday, West Virginia still possesses a dangerous rushing attack as well. The Mountaineers have a three-headed run game that has accounted for 1,724 yards and 17 touchdowns this year.

On the Syracuse side of the ball, they will be led by a healthy (well, healthier) senior quarterback in Eric Dungey and their talented pass rush. With Dungey ready to go and the Orange having most of their offensive weapons at their disposal, scoring points on Friday against West Virginia should be pretty easy.

In the end, Syracuse’s experience at the quarterback position will prove to be the key factor and eventually lead the school to their first bowl win since 2013.
