Prediction: Syracuse wins 82-70
Talent has never been a question surrounding this season’s Syracuse basketball team. The Orange being able to put together a complete performance is what has been holding them back so far this year.
After back-to-back non-conference losses on their home court, Syracuse should be able to get back on track against the 5-6 Arkansas State Red Wolves inside the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
Despite having won four of their last six games, Arkansas State is not a team that should strike fear in the eyes of the Orange. The Red Wolves have lost all four of their road matchups so far this season and a similar result will likely go down on Saturday.
Arkansas State is one of the worst shooting teams in the country this season (ranked 320th), so a matchup against Syracuse and their 34th-ranked scoring defense doesn’t seem like it will turn out that well for the Red Wolves.
This is a good opportunity for the Orange to work out some kinks (especially on the offensive end of the floor) before they seek revenge on St. Bonaventure next Saturday, December 29.
