The Syracuse basketball team will look to end their losing streak vs Arkansas State on Saturday in the Carrier Dome. Here’s our predictions for this one.
Syracuse fans aren’t used to this level of ineptitude. “It marked the first time since Syracuse joined the Big East in the 1979-80 season that the Orange had suffered two straight home losses to non-conference teams”, per Syracuse.com.
Also under Jim Boeheim’s 43 year run, he’s never made the tournament when his team has lost four or more nonconference games. So if Syracuse wants to buck that trend, they have a ton of work to make up in conference play.
But before this team looks ahead to 2019, they still have work to finish in 2018. Two nonconference games remain on the schedule in Arkansas State and St. Bonaventure. The Red Wolves are up first and they bring some uptempo flavor and a head coach who has knowledge of the 2-3 zone.
