Andrew Carey (6-4)

Prediction: Bulls 81-65

I am extremely disappointed in this Syracuse team and the coaching staff. I don’t understand why Jim Boeheim says things like, “I think we are a top 10 team in the country. but we aren’t playing like that right now.”

Clearly there is a lack of talent and play-making ability on the team. Oshae Brissett has been a massive disappointment this season. After struggling to finish around the rim last season, we heard that he was going to change that this offseason and get better.

Well, through the first 10 games of the season, Brissett is shooting a lousy 42% on shots inside the 3-point arc. Frank Howard, the supposed “saving grace” of this team has come back, and in his six games played is averaging 4.8 points per game and shooting 6-of-29 from 3-point range. This team is flat out tough to watch too.

Their offense is so limited, I believe because Boeheim wrecks these kids confidence. After the Georgetown game, he was quoted saying something along the lines of, “I told him (Jalen Carey) not to shoot. Thankfully it (Carey’s 3-pointer in the final 5 minutes) went in.” Why would you tell Carey not to shoot? He was Syracuse’s best player in their games in Madison Square Garden and possesses the ability to create his own shot, which nearly no one else on the team does. I am sick and tired of this unwatchable style of basketball. Syracuse falls to UB 81-65.
