Prediction: Syracuse wins 60-48
Fresh off of their thrilling win over Georgetown last week, the No. 25 Orange are heading back onto the court inside the Carrier Dome on Saturday to take on an underrated Old Dominion Monarchs.
Old Dominion comes into their matchup against Syracuse having won seven of their 10 games this season. The Monarchs are led by a talented defense that is holding their opponents to an impressive 56.6 points per game, the sixth-best mark in the country.
Old Dominion is only 2-3 away from home this season, so the fact that Saturday’s game will be played inside the Carrier Dome should favor the Orange (as usual).
Given that the Monarchs’ defense has been so good this season, Syracuse will need to focus on getting easy baskets and getting to the foul line. The Orange don’t want to fall into a trap of settling for outside jumpers and unnecessary 3-point attempts.
Despite the possibility for an upset this weekend, Syracuse should still be able to take care of business on Saturday and leave the court with another win.
