Syracuse Basketball: Predictions for Old Dominion Monarchs clash

Prediction: Syracuse wins 78-66

It looked like Syracuse got its’ offense going good in last weekend’s victory over Georgetown, so hopefully that will carry over into this week.

Old Dominion is 7-3, with few quality wins, most notably over VCU by ten. However, they did play very well, especially defensively, in a five point loss against Oregon State.

Old Dominion does have a fairly tall team, with two 7-footers in Dajour Dickens and Elbert Robinson III. Syracuse will have to play good inside, as Pascal Chukwu still hosts a height advantage at 7-2.

I would like to see Syracuse speed up the game and try to force Old Dominion to keep up with them, as I can see anyone stopping Tyus Battle on the break.

All in all, the Orange just need to play Syracuse basketball and they will come away with a semi-easy win. If they turn the ball over and allow Old Dominion to take control of the paint, it will be closer than it should.

In the end, I see the Cuse guards again as a difference maker. Cuse takes control in the 2nd half and wins by double digits.
