Prediction: Syracuse wins 74-62

Syracuse Basketball played well all things considered against Georgetown, but really struggled to get going early. The Orange have really got to fix this offense going forward. As fans we see how many talented and athletic scorers we have on this team, yet they can’t seem to put the pieces together.

Something is just a bit off and when the Orange correct it they will find they’re much better than they’ve played thus far. Thankfully Syracuse has played fantastic thus far defensively which has kept them in games. I would argue it was Marek Dolezaj taking the charge on defense that won

the game for the Orange just as much as Tyus Battles amazingly clutch shot was last week against the Hoyas.

The Orange will have to continue to play well on defense this Saturday as the Old Dominion Monarchs visit the Carrier Dome. The Monarchs have started strong thus far and are 7-3 on the year. They are a talented bunch of guys who are scrappy defensively and have the length to match Syracuse’s zone. This game could be closer than we think.

My guess though is that either Jalen Carey or Frank Howard has a big assist game though and puts this game out of reach later the first half. Out of reach to me in this one means leading by like 15 points or more in this case as I think the Orange are incapable of the 30 point blowout at this time.

I think the Orange are just too talented and can rely on three or four different guys to score consistently for the Orange. That should be a enough to put away a scrappy and passionate team like the Monarchs.

Then again, that all depends on if we can get our offense going early and keep it up after that. If the Orange can do that, then they can feel good going into a Top 25 matchup on Tuesday against Buffalo.
