We have a reinvigorated ‘Boeheim Bowl’ as the backdrop for this Syracuse basketball vs Cornell matchup on Saturday in the Carrier Dome.

The Syracuse basketball team has to be feeling jolly after getting the biggest win of their young season vs the No. 1 ranked (wink wink) Ohio State Buckeyes. Now the team returns home to the Carrier Dome for its’ final seven games of nonconference play.

Syracuse has to play the Cornell Big Red, just another ho hum nonconference opponent for Syracuse to annihilate right? Wrong.

Well sure maybe Syracuse has a 92-31 advantage in the series with Cornell and the Orange have captured the most recent 38 pairings (per Cuse.com) and probably will win a 39th time on Saturday.

But the backdrop is a family reunion? We’ve seen Jim Boeheim (coach) and Jimmy Boeheim face off, but now we’ll see Jim Boeheim coach, Buddy Boeheim play for Syracuse and his brother Jimmy Boeheim play for Cornell. Should add some intrigue to this annual matchup.

Our expert panel gives their takes on this game and how they see this ‘Boeheim Bowl’ playing out on Saturday.
