The Syracuse basketball squad will take on the newly crowned No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes on the road on Wednesday night in the ACC vs Big 10 matchup.

The Syracuse basketball squad will try to get their real first marquee win of the season on the road vs No. 16 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. Although if you’ve seen the new net basketball rankings, Ohio State was crowned No. 1 by the NCAA.

The new NET system has been brought in to replace the old RPI rankings and will be the primary source of determining what schools make it into the tournament and what teams don’t. Which provides a very good opportunity for Syracuse to get their best win of the season and perhaps one of the best ones they can get this season.

This Ohio State squad is undefeated at 6-0, the best wins being Cincinnati and Creighton both on the road. While Syracuse (3-2) is off to its’ worst start since 2006.

"“The Orange are trying to avoid a third non-conference defeat. Only six times in the past 27 years have they lost that many before ACC play begins and each time they failed to make the NCAA Tournament field”, per ESPN."
