Prediction: Syracuse wins 68-54

Call me crazy but I don’t think this will be a rout against a mediocre at best Colgate team. Syracuse has struggled all year on offense and seems lost without point guard Frank Howard running the offense.

Truth is Jalen Carey has not lived up to being a passing point guard nor has Tyus Battle. Both are better scoring guards than they are distributors. That has led the Orange to run a lot of Isolation plays which lets the defense mostly focus on only the ball carrier. That hurts your offense and explains why the Orange are scoring in the mid 60’s pretty consistently. I think that trend continues unfortunately in this game.

I think the Orange should control the game throughout and victory should never be in doubt (or at least I hope not). However with little leadership at the point don’t expect the Orange to suddenly find some offense. I do however expect Oshae Brissett to get back on track shooting the ball the way we know he can. Without him shooting well, the Orange practically can’t win this year. So expect a bounce back game after two horrific offensive showings in New York from Brissett.

The Orange get back to the win column, but that’s about as satisfying as this game will be for the Orange and its fans who expect much more from this team than what they are seeing.
