Syracuse Football: Predictions for Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium

Prediction: Syracuse wins 36-28

The Orange have already surprised a lot of people with their success this season. So why not believe they can pull off a big upset on Saturday against the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish?

Stopping Notre Dame’s rushing offense will be a huge factor in Syracuse coming out with a win this week. The Irish are averaging almost 200 rushing yards per game this season and they have finished a contest with at least 240 yards on the ground five times this year.

Containing the run has been a struggle for the Orange defense in 2018. But they have seen improvements in their efforts recently as they are allowing just under four yards per carry over the last four weeks (compared to 4.7 yards allowed per attempt during their first six games).

If Syracuse can do this and continue to rush the passer well like they have all season long, then it should lead to them getting their first victory over a ranked opponent outside of the Carrier Dome since 2010.
