Syracuse Basketball vs. Oregon: How to watch & listen (TV/Radio info)
By Josh Peelman
The Syracuse basketball team plays their fourth game of the season against the Oregon Ducks on Friday. Inside The Loud House gets you ready with what you need to know to be able to watch and listen to the game.
The Syracuse basketball team suffered their first loss to rival Connecticut in Madison Square Garden on Thursday, and now will play again Friday night against the Oregon Ducks. The game which is part of the 2K Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden should be a special one.
The Orange have never played Oregon before so it should literally be one for the ages. Considering both teams come in ranked in the top 20 in their first matchup of all-time, there really aren’t many better ways to meet.
The bright lights plus two talented teams playing that could make deep runs this season in March. What else could a college basketball fan want on a Friday night in November?
The Ducks come in with wins over Portland State and Eastern Washington. This Ducks team is loaded with offensive weapons and lots of length and height to match the Orange. In fact, they are one of the few teams in the country that can match Syracuse in that regard.
Syracuse Orange
Haling from the Pac-12, Oregon doesn’t often play teams of the Orange’s caliber unless it’s on their non-conference schedule, but they perform better than the rest of their conference most years. The Ducks are known for having a pesky defense and guys who can really shoot the ball. That should scare a team like Syracuse who relies on teams not hitting outside shots over their 2-3 zone.
The Ducks are led in scoring by freshman phenom center Bol Bol who is 7-foot-2 and is averaging over 17 points and 12 rebounds a game so far. Though the Orange can counter with Paschal Chukwu inside to play defense, also 7-foot-2, there is only so much Syracuse can do to keep Bol from scoring. The Orange will have to bring their A-game defensively inside if they want to win this game.
The consolation game of the 2K Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden is set to start at 4:30 p.m. ET. The game will be on national television once again on ESPN2 and on the WatchESPN app if you’re using a mobile device or tablet outside the house.
