Prediction: Orange win 75-68

This is a step up in competition for both Syracuse and UConn. It’s Madison Square Garden, a huge atmosphere and the good ole Big East rivalry.

When you look at the last four matchups, Syracuse and UConn have alternated wins. If that’s true then UConn should win this game according to the trend. Speaking of trends, Syracuse is a 80.7 percent favorite to beat the Huskies.

The Orange have had some issues so far this season:

  • First game had a variety of offensive issues, but team was good enough to win off of talent.
  • Second game Syracuse had some really bad turnovers and obviously the point guard issues have been evident.

The thing that I’m struggling with is Syracuse not putting a natural point guard at the top. I get that it’s an important position, but Tyus Battle is playing out of position, it’d make more sense to throw Jalen Carey in the mix.

Then Tyus can go to the two and a point guard who has been there done that (at least playing the position) with Frank Howard’s status up in the air.
