Prediction: Syracuse wins 35-31

Road games against an ACC opponents have not turned out with the greatest results for the Orange in the recent past. Under head coach Dino Babers, Syracuse is just 1-9 in ACC matchups outside of the Carrier Dome.

But the Orange are a much different team this season. Now nationally ranked for the first time since 2001, Syracuse is no longer an easy win for their ACC counterparts this year.

Despite their success this season, getting a win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday is still not going to be an easy task for the Orange.

Wake Forest is coming into the matchup this week with a 4-4 record. However, they have yet to defeat a team with a winning record in 2018.

The Demon Deacons’ rushing attack is likely going to give Syracuse some problems this week as they are averaging almost 240 yards on the ground per game this season.

But at the same time, Wake Forest’s defense is allowing their opponents to average about 215 rushing yards per matchup this year as well. Something the Orange’s dangerous ground game should be able to take advantage of on Saturday.

It will likely be a hard-fought battle this week against the Demon Deacons. But in the end, Syracuse will prove why they deserve to be regarded as one of the best teams in college football this season.
