A full Syracuse football vs Pitt breakdown ahead of a pivotal Week 6 matchup in the ACC conference. Here’s an inside scoop on this game at Heinz Field.

The Syracuse football squad continues their road trip, this time to Pittsburgh at Heinz Field. The Panthers are 2-3 and things haven’t gone exactly according to plan. But now they have a Syracuse football team that’s coming off of an emotional loss to the No. 3 ranked Clemson Tigers.

That combined with Pitt’s recent success vs Syracuse in the 21st century at home suggest a possible Panthers upset. For context, the last time Syracuse beat Pitt, at Pitt, was back in 2001. Coincidentally that was also the last time Syracuse was ranked in the top 25.

Everything is still in front of the Orange who sit at 4-1 after the first five games of their season. If this is the ‘same old’ Syracuse, they would likely let Clemson stay on their minds and lose this one and go into their bye week feeling terrible.

But this team feels different in 2018, head coach Dino Babers continues to say it. We’ll see if Syracuse can put their money where their mouth is. To get a better scope of this matchup we sat down with Brian Batko who covers Pitt Football for the Post-Gazette.
