Prediction: Clemson 35, Syracuse 24.

I want to pick Cuse. I really do. But maybe it’ll be sweeter if I don’t and Cuse does (fingers crossed) pull off the upset for the second consecutive year.

Realistically, Trevor Lawrence should have a decent game, as he won’t have to worry about splitting time with Kelly Bryant. As for Cuse, the Orange will need to bring pressure often to make Lawrence feel uncomfortable. Look for Cuse to step up defensively, but most likely, the Tigers will be able to control the game.

On the flip side, Cuse will need at least 100 yards on the ground to stand a chance, which could be tough unless Eric Dungey can use his legs to change Clemson’s defensive schemes. Dungey will also need to pass well for the Orange to make an impact offensively.

Ultimately, Cuse will hang in there for two quarters, but Clemson should pull away. The Orange are getting better as a program, but Clemson just has too many impactful bodies, which is the difference.
