The decision has been made to bench Kelly Bryant and go to Trevor Lawrence for this game against Syracuse. What went into the decision and what are the pros and cons of going from Bryant to Lawrence?

"(UPDATE: Kelly Bryant will be transferring from Clemson) The benefit in going to Lawrence is his pure passing ability. Lawrence can run the ball just fine, but he gives the Tigers a different dimension in the offense. Defenses are no longer able to stack the box because they know he can pick them apart in the secondary. It opens up the offense and allows the receivers to be involved in the game, which is something that Kelly Bryant struggled with at times. Lawrence has just been the better guy all around. The offense looks different when he’s in the game and it will be interesting to see how he performs now that he has the “starter” tag. As far as cons are concerned, you do lose Kelly Bryant’s legs and his leadership with Lawrence in the game. Bryant is an explosive runner of the football, but Clemson has plenty of other options- Travis Etienne, Tavien Feaster, etc.- at running back to make up for that and Lawrence has done an excellent job so far being a leader when he’s seen the field."
