The Syracuse football squad is currently riding on Cloud 44, and the Orange looks to remain unbeaten when it hosts Connecticut this Saturday afternoon from the Carrier Dome.

This past weekend, SU absolutely trounced Florida State, giving the ‘Cuse a perfect 3-0 mark on the young 2018 season. To date, Syracuse is an absolute machine on offense, putting up nearly 50 points per contest.

Its next opponent, the Huskies, is performing pretty lackluster on defense, a good sign for our beloved Orange. UConn (1-2) has gotten smoked in two of its three affairs, with the Huskies allowing almost 56 points a game. Yikes.

With that as a backdrop, it’s no wonder that odds-makers out in Las Vegas are presently anointing SU as the favorite by a whopping 27.5 points. Now, I don’t necessarily expect the ‘Cuse to emerge victorious by that large of a margin, but it’s certain feasible. Connecticut simply doesn’t seem fit to hang with Syracuse for all four quarters, so I do think that our guys are ultimately going to pull away.

My primary concern is that the Orange could prove due for a letdown, after an emotional conquest of the Seminoles, coupled with the fact that, following the Huskies, SU will travel to highly ranked Clemson on Sept. 29, in a nationally televised encounter. The ‘Cuse must remained focused versus UConn, and keep the Tigers out of mind, and out of sight, for the time being. In the end, I project that Syracuse will get the best of the Huskies, with the final score amounting to 49-28. Let’s. Go. Orange!
