When Syracuse fans first saw Western Michigan on schedule they assumed cream puff but Western Michigan appears to be anything but what are the expectations for this team heading into season?

"The coaches and media polls have Western Michigan pegged to finish third in the MAC West, so there is an expectation they will contend in the conference. The loss of three NFL draft picks, two at cornerback, will be tough to overcome. But a 6-6 season in the first year under head coach Tim Lester was marred by season-ending injuries to 22 players, including five running backs and the starting quarterback. All of those players are now back and healthy to start the season, so WMU has been eager to get back on the field."
