SG. Miami Heat. DION WAITERS. 2012.

Money, money: yeah, yeah. Dion Waiters finally got paid this past offseason with a four-year $52 million pay day from the Miami Heat and he rewarded their investment with a solid season prior to getting hurt.

But a question that’s been bubbling is Dion Waiters the best Orange alum in the pros right now? It’s crazy to think about, but it’s probably true. Consider that factoid with Waiters never starting a single collegiate game.

He still was the fourth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Mr. Sixth man of the year basically in both years with the Orange. Now in the pros Waiters has proven that he’s more than just a spark plug off the bench, ascending to the starting lineup.

Waiters is no longer team bouncing from the Cleveland Cavaliers, to OKC, and now finally he’s found a home in South Beach. Next season could be his best yet in a NBA uniform at the ripe age of 26.
