Which former Syracuse Basketball star has best chance at NBA stardom?

JERAMI GRANT. 2014. . F. Oklahoma City Thunder

Jerami Grant is probably the dark horse to take the next step in the NBA next season. But before we get there, let’s jump back in the time machine to his two years at Syracuse (2012-2014). Grant wasn’t a spectacular superstar by any means, but his contributions go beyond the stat sheet.

He was a dude that SU could always rely on. That’s something the Oklahoma City Thunder have realized since acquiring him back in 2016. Again he’s not a double digit scoring superstar, but he’s old reliable.

Over the last two seasons for the Thunder, Grant has missed only five games. He’s still young (only 24 years old) and has garnered a ton of respect from his teammates and coaching staff. Grant has an opportunity to go to his third different NBA team this offseason as a free agent.

While he won’t go for big money, hopefully he can continue to develop as a key role player on another squad. His consistency makes me think that he can take the next leap, all he needs is a good situation around him.
