2. Tommy DeVito

All the hopes and prayers of future Syracuse football fans ride or die with Tommy DeVito. But the big question is how soon will we see that future? Of course that all depends on the health status of Eric Dungey.

It does feel inevitable that DeVito is going to play in 2018. Eric Dungey has yet to remain healthy for a complete season yet, why would that suddenly happen in 2018?

While most fans wanted to see DeVito in 2017, I think it was good we didn’t. Good things come to those who wait and that’s what will happen for Orange fans. DeVito spent an entire year sitting on the bench and learning.

I’ve talked to those who have coached DeVito and who watched him in high school. He’s a super intelligent player who can be the quintessential piece in the Dino Babers offense. You saw glimpses during the Spring Football Spring Preview when DeVito was at the helm for a recovering Dungey. Could that be foreshadowing of this season? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
