Gilgeous-Alexander was finally rewarded for his consistent play when he was named to the All-SEC Second Team and All-SEC Freshman Team. However, it wasn’t until the SEC Tournament, when Gilgeous-Alexander showed the NCAA and NBA scouts around the country just how talented he is.
This past Sunday, the Wildcats stunned the No. 13 Tennessee Volunteers 77-72 in the SEC Tournament’s championship game, and Gilgeous-Alexander was the reason why. The point guard dropped 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out three assists.
