Syracuse Basketball is on the bubble once again which once again means (drumroll……..) a Bubble Watch Section. Check back here for updates on the Orange’s NCAA standing until brackets are released on Sunday, March 11th at 6pm.

The Syracuse Basketball somehow always finds themselves here every year: on the bubble. Anyone who’s reading this probably knows what the bubble is, but for those who don’t, it’s those teams that are right on the edge of missing out on the tournament. Syracuse likes to walk that fine line year-in and year-out.

Over the last three years Syracuse has flirted with the bubble. It made it only one of those three years, as a 10 seed, according to the WashingtonPost.com, and it was a controversial decision at that. Bubble Teams in 2016 felt they were more deserving, but the Orange proved they belonged.

That year the Orange rolled all the way to the Final Four as huge underdogs, and even beat one number one seed: Virginia. That game included was one of the most dramatic comebacks and finishes that the NCAA tournament had ever seen.

Last year the Orange just missed out on the NCAA tournament. This year the Orange have paved a similar road, but without the ugly losses that hurt last years team. In fact the Orange have been more tested and as a result have played better down the stretch so far.

Now on to the fun stuff. After every Syracuse basketball game we will update this Bubble Watch for you so you know where Syracuse stands going into the tournament. In each we will tell you which Bubble teams Syracuse should be concerned about. In addition, we’ll offer a quick analysis of games each bubble team played and how that impacts each team’s chances going forward.

Up first, our home team: The Syracuse Orange and fellow ACC member NC State.
