It’s do or die here for the Orange football team. No not for bowl hopes, those have since evaporated. But this is do or die in terms of the immediate pulse of the fan base as it pertains to their belief in Dino Babers. While we’re talking about the difference between 4-8 and 5-7, it’s much more than that.

4-8 also means ending the season on a five game losing streak. It also means that since the win over No. 2 Clemson, the Orange wouldn’t have won a game since. Originally people considered that win over the Tigers on October 13th program changing, but nothing has changed since that win. This is a huge game for the Orange, they’ll be playing for pride in the loud house. SU wins 27-26. My heart is telling me this more than my head.

The Syracuse football squad closes out its 2017 regular season when it hosts Boston College this Saturday afternoon. It’s virtually a foregone conclusion that SU will not receive a bowl bid, which stinks. Still, ending on a high note, by defeating the Eagles, would prove sweet.

BC (6-5, 3-4) triumphed over Connecticut at home this past Saturday, while the Orange (4-7, 2-5) got its butt absolutely kicked at Louisville. Unfortunately, the way in which the ‘Cuse defense has performed of late, I don’t see Syracuse besting the Eagles. Boston College emerges victorious in this contest, 38-27.

I am going to start off this prediction with a wish. Dino do not play Eric Dungey as exciting as it is to watch him I hope he shelves our star as there is nothing to be gained by a win or a loss but plenty at stake. This will be the first time that I am predicting a loss for the Orange, BC is impressive this year and I fear that the OITNF is out of gas. A Dungeyless team will lose 42-17. Here is looking forward to the 2018 campaign.

Syracuse has been unable to contain the run game at all over the past two weeks. BC has arguably the best running back in the conference. It’s Thanksgiving time and what else is new? Nothing! Eric Dungey is on the injury report. Zack Mahoney didn’t look good at all last week. Tommy DeVito may be the best option. But it’s too late to burn his redshirt now.

The Orange have just look defeated over the past two games and the same effort and pep in their step just hasn’t been there. Unfortunately I don’t think SU will get the job done n Saturday and BC and their run game will roll by the Orange 35-7.

If Syracuse has QB Eric Dungey back, then I think the Orange today get back to life on both sides of the ball and beat Boston College. If he doesn’t, I think the Orange lose at home in their last game of the season. Dungey gives the team purpose and that is why I think the defense took a step back the last two weeks. Take him away and they feel they have nothing to play for. There’s no doubt about it, Dungey is the heart and soul of this team and without him they struggle. If he plays, which I assume he’ll try to, Orange win: 44-27.
