5. Eric Dungey Long Tuck and Run

We all know Dungey can run it. However, when you see a play where he takes off and runs it way past a first down it’s usually one of the highlights of the game. This play was no different.

On the play, Eric Dungey went back in the shotgun formation with a running back to his left. Once the ball is snapped the running back goes forward to block. Dungey goes back a couple steps after receiving the ball and then tucks it.

Following the running back’s block on his left. He weaves around him and takes off toward the left sideline. On the way he makes two to three defenders miss. One dives for him and misses causing the next guy behind him to step up and make the play.

At the end of the play Dungey tries doing a little juke move to get by the last defender but the defender just catches on and makes the tackle. The play not only led to a first down for the Orange, it also was a 22-yard game.

The gain would get Syracuse Football down to the 15-yard line. The possession would also lead to a Steve Ishmael touchdown, which is also shown in these highlights. It just goes to show these kind of plays Dungey can make for this team if and when he chooses to run. They aren’t all like this, but plays like this can change a game in a hurry. This one got the Orange back into the ball game and have them a chance to get within one possession.
