It’s finally time for one-time Syracuse football star, Amba Etta-Tawo to show off in front of hundreds of scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine.

If you want to see Amba Etta-Tawo strut his stuff you can do so starting tomorrow morning at 9 am ET on the NFL Network.

We’ve talked to numerous scouts over the last several weeks on ITLH, The Jets Zone podcast, and on Bud and the Manchild via ESPN Radio in Syracuse.

If you want to see our full report on how important the 40 yard dash is to Amba’s stack you can read so here: The Key For Amba Etta-Tawo Is The 40 Yard Dash Says One Scout.

Etta-Tawo to see his stock fully blossom must perform as a “combine warrior” and dominate the drills athletically. If he’s able to do that, perhaps teams will overlook the fact he’s a one-year wonder.

Outside of the mental tests and interviews, the prospects will have to test in a slew of drills listed here:

  • 40 yard dash
  • 3-cone drill
  • 20-yard shuttle
  • 60-yard shuttle
  • Bench press
  • Vertical jump
  • Broad jump

You can check the results of the players here through the live tracker on NFL.com and it lets you filter by position.

From the tape I’ve seen on Amba, he should do well with the vertical jump with his ability to

high-point the ball in game action. The broad jump will be important to define his explosiveness out of his first step. While with his somewhat slim frame (6’2 200 pounds), the bench press could be a bit of a concern.

He has no defined stock heading in. The only confirmed thing thus far is that he’s a 100% going to get drafted according to reports. Where is anyone’s guess, but his ceiling is second round (lofty expectations) and his floor is the sixth-seventh round.

Ultimately at the end of the day the only real importance here is the chunk of change he’ll make in terms of draft position. From all accounts he should be a stud at the next level. He’s got a great head on his shoulders, has the passion for the game, and showed last season what he’s capable of.

Also one last nugget to throw in here on the Syracuse football squad.

"“Head coach Dino Babers and the 2017 Syracuse Orange will kick off the 2017 season on Friday, Sept. 1 against Central Connecticut State. The season opener for both schools was initially set for Saturday, Sept. 2.” (According to a Cuse.com report)"

So we’ll have a Friday night lights special for the season opener in 2017 which hopefully should avoid all the hooplah: New York State fair, whatever concert happens to be in town, and insert generic crappy excuse for not showing up to this game.
