Moe Neal had a pretty decent start to the season. Through two games he had 108 yards on 21 carries and 1 Touchdown. He also had a big 49 yard gain on his first play for Syracuse Football versus Colgate. However, against South Florida (USF) he struggled to get anything going.

South Florida limited him on Saturday to a 1 yard catch, and rushing for 12 yards on six carries. Dontae Strickland and Jordan Fredericks got more carries as a result of his lack of production. As a freshman we expected these growing pains as he learns to play against tougher competition. The fact that Neal fell from 6th to 10th this week was not really a surprise.

Neal was never going to truly lead this talented team of backs this season, but through two games he has. Most likely for the rest of the season we can expect Neal will tend to be toward the bottom of these rankings. He is talented, but we have to remember as a freshman we should keep our expectations low.
