Trevor Cooney- 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers, 4-13 overall, 3-9 from 3

Trevor’s game was a mixed bag of good and bad. He started out incredibly cold, going 0-4 from the three-point line early in the first half. He missed a number of wide open 3’s and if you listened close enough, you could already start to hear the grumblings from the anti-Cooney crowd. To be fair, the majority of those early shots were quality looks that just didn’t fall.

Eventually Cooney heated up and connected on a few three pointers. He was also one of the few players who actually attempted to drive into the lane on several occasions. Unfortunately, much like last year, he was unable to finish at the rim most of the time and chucked up some really awkward looking layups in traffic.

Cooney also wasn’t as solid with his ball-handling and passing as he should have been and made a few careless passes that led to turnovers. I will say that was pretty uncharacteristic of Trevor, as he is normally pretty good with the ball and doesn’t make too many poor decisions. Hopefully it was just some early season rust and he will pick it up.

I give Trevor an overall grade of C. He did some things well, and connected on some threes, but there is lots of room for improvement.
